Malta maintenance - 2006-02-21
After a successful cruise to Tunisia. I returned with Chao Lay to Malta for a visit home and to complete the yearly lift out etc. The sail back from Monastir provided some fast exciting sailing with 96 miles being covered in the first 12 hours. The planned maintenance includes rudder bearing renewal, the fitting of an autoprop and antifouling. We hope to be on route again by the 1st week in March. Malta has carinval in the last week of February and time from jobs was found to enjoy the local scene. The haul out of Chao Lay was delayed by a week due to pressure of work in the yard. All the planned work is now complete, White Sails of Malta providing the manpower and expertise to ensure a swift and thorough job. We are looking forward to be traveling again next week.
